"This land is the closest thing to heaven, The loveliest ever contemplated by the human eye"
Christopher Columbus.

SANTO DOMINGO - BAYAHIBE
Bayahibe is situated 20 km from La Romana in the south of the Dominican Republic and approximately 2½ hours from its capital of Santo Domingo. The fishing village of Bayahibe is also the point of departure for other nearby havens such as the Saona and Catalina islands and the Parque Nacional del Este.

The Dominican Republic is an excellent holiday destination for lovers of major historical and architectural attractions. The Ciudad Colonial is the first permanent human settlement founded by Christopher Columbus and other Spanish explorers in the New World.  Located in the city of Santo Domingo, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1990.  Gregorian chants can still be heard accompanying liturgical celebrations from the Romanesque cloister of the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos.

ALL SO NATURAL
Bayahibe owes its fortune to Italian entrepreneur Ettore Colussi who purchased a few bungalows on the beachfront in 1985. Promptly refurbished and turned into a 120-room holiday village, a few years later it became the first all-inclusive complex in the Caribbean. This location never ceases to amaze, with its never-ending beaches, natural havens and monasteries in ruin. Today, Bayahibe is one of the country’s prime resorts with an extensive offer of high-quality accommodation and beach complexes.

The Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus directly overlooks a stunning beach.
It lies 5km from the picturesque fishing village of Bayahibe and 25km from La Romana and its international airport. The Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus is a huge, single and integrated complex of seven two-storey buildings with 502 rooms, surrounded by a lush tropical garden, four restaurants, three swimming pools, a solarium, a paddling pool and fitness areas. It also comprises a residential zone with 46 luxury suites featuring tropical gardens and private pools plus an artificial lagoon and two football pitches.

POOLS AND WATER GAMES
It may seem easy to artificially recreate such outstanding surroundings but straightforward and up-close comparison with the immediate environment can be unforgiving. It was a difficult challenge, with the results before the eyes of the hundreds of thousands of visitors and VIPs who flock to the pools of the 5-star Bayahibe.

TROPIC OF CANCER
Bayahibe straddles the Tropic of Cancer, where the sun is shines brightly. It has a variegated vegetation of coconut trees, bougainvilleas, hibiscus and palm trees, many of them endemic e.g. the Bayahibe Rose (Pereskia quisqueyana). Certain species of wild epiphyte orchids are extremely rare, as is their beauty.
The environment was recreated in different parts of the village after a crucial and essential study of mahogany trees.

RESIDENTIAL ZONE
The Paghera residential zone features 46 luxury full suites, designed in different styles for different people, with pool and blissful private garden.
Every suite is a perfect mix of style and comfort, with a special focus on matching the interiors to the exteriors.
Open spaces, flowers, trees and vegetation highlight the natural beauty of the location.
This project offers the unique and exclusive experience that only Paghera can guarantee.
The key feature is the swimming pool in the residential zone, a modern oasis surrounded by palm trees and sun loungers, with a large Jacuzzi from which to enjoy the sunset and relax in this heaven on earth.

LIKE BEING IN A FILM: SPECTACULAR EFFECTS AND PRIVATE ZONES
The white sandy beach looks out onto the islands of Saona and Catalina, so beautiful that they have been chosen as sets for films such as Apocalypse Now and King Kong. Together, they make the surrounding scenery all the more beautiful.
The project sourced the finest accessories to provide guests with utter luxury and comfort.
All the furnishings are of the finest quality: cushions, candles, sun loungers, designer fabrics and silks – and all are, of course, made in Italy.
Relax on this part of the beach overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean as you watch humpback whales courting in the bay – a unique pastime! When you have had your fill of the island’s natural attractions, you can return quickly to civilization and plunge into the party atmosphere that is a feature of this corner of paradise, lunching, perhaps, on lobster in the fishing village of Bayahibe, while music-lovers can dance to the local Merengue.
