Venetian landscapes: Titianesque colours

Just before one reaches Venice, jealously secreted away in the heart of a gorgeous pinewood, stands this exquisite contemporary home. Clean lines surrounded by a broad green sweep of grass parterres, geometric boxwood shapes with corollas in the bright palette of Titian's paintings rising out of them.

The luxuriant borders alternate sequences of different blooms from early March to late September, in carefully calculated volumes that blend in harmoniously with the natural backdrop of hoary Pinus pinea.
